SHANGHAI TENNIS!

Verdasco paying 2.00 is a great bet against Ferrero. Verdasco is a much better player and ranks almost 40 spots above him. Will be a close match but im confident Verdasco will edge him.

Thursday 6 October 2011

Thursday best looks!

Having a look tonight,

ICE HOCKEY
In the Czech Repubic extraliga, Kladno are facing litinov. Both of these teams have been good starting off this season, yet both generally dont score a lot even when playing bad teams. I think these teams will probably score even less as they're about the same skill level and will negate each other. I predict this one to be 2-2 after normal time, but take under 6 goals to be scored @ 1.90

However if your looking to back a head to head, jump on Lillehammer IK to win over Lorenskog in the Norway UPC. In this 4th v 7th match Lillehammer are 1.90 favourites due to their outstanding home record against Lorenskog's horrible away record. Lillehammer have played 2 a home winning 4-1 and 7-1(against 6th place), compared to Lorenskog's away record of 3-5 loss, 6-1 loss and an 8-2 loss to valerenga. Lillehammer should roll them @ 1.90

Monday 3 October 2011

ATP tennis Tuesday!

Today there are a few roughies that are definitely worth taking a look at!

Firstly,

Mikhail Youzhny(1.87) V Nicolas Almagro (2.20) - Almagro is the roughie here due to the fact that he is 0-3 against Youzhny head to head, however Almagro is #11 with 3 titles and a 46/19 record this year compared to #37 Youzhny's 0 titles and 22/19 record. This is a great bet.

If you dont manage to catch that game,

Have a look at Bellucci(2.40) v Ferrero(1.60),

There is absolutely no reason as to why Bellucci cant upset Ferrero in the first round of the Beijing Challenger. These two have only met once(clay) and Bellucci came out on top. Both have had pretty standard seasons yet Bellucci is ranked #36 in the world against Ferrero at #84, add also Bellucci is 23 years old compared to Ferrero at 31. I think at this point in time Bellucci being a better traveller, younger and faster than Ferrero should be enough to negate the veteran's forehand precision.

NRL Grand Final Best Bet!

Looking through the markets here, Manly is a hot favourite in just about everything.

The deserved winners are clearly the better side, finishing 2nd against the 6th placed Warriors and smashing through to the Grand Final without a hitch. NZW are lucky to have even got this far just edging through each game. In the first round of finals the Bronco's smashed the warriors 40-10, the same Bronco's who then went on in the next round to be easily beaten 26-14 by Manly.

It's clear Manly should win, and this is reflected in all the bookies prices except for one,

Most Try Conversions to be scored by Manly is paying 1.90. The way I see it, this is practically a bonus head to head market, but you'll get 1.90 for Manly instead of 1.45. Obviously the expectance is that Manly will score more tries than the Warriors will, if they do that, they'll also kick the most try conversions.

Best bet: Manly most try conversions @ 1.90 centrebet

Thursday 29 September 2011

Wallabies V Russia

The best bet I can come across today is in the Wallabies.

This doesnt need much explaination as you would understand the liklihood of the outcome, But my best bet is Russia to score a try at $3.00..

Great bet, great value for money.

Wednesday 28 September 2011

Kamke V Soeda ATP Tennis.

At first glance I thought Kamke would be a sure thing in this match, but looking at the stats the game could go either way.

Kamke comes in at a very hot favourite at 1.40, but I dont think Soeda is as easy as the bookies think at 2.90. Its a  long shot to say Soeda could win, but I do believe he can. Kamke is 20 places above Soeda in the world rankings, but recent form shows that Soeda has a better hardcourt game playing 7-3 to Kamke's 3-3.

The word of mouth is that Kamke will roll him over due to Soeda playing over 6 hours of tennis in the last two days and entering this one fatigued.

If your a small punter you may aswell go for the chance he wins at 2.90, for the best bet im going to say this game will be decided in 2 sets. Either Kamke will kill him or Soeda will prove a huge upset.

Best bet: Under 22 @ 1.95

Tuesday 27 September 2011

T20 Champions League Cricket

Tonight the Blues(1.60) take on Trinidad and Tobago(2.40) in the T20 Champions League.

New South Wales should cruise through the TT team without a hitch providing they can take Bravo quickly. Last night South Australia managed a great win against Kolkata KR and I can see the Australian's doing the job again here.
The Caribbean T&T side gamely defended a modest total of 98 against the Mumbai on Monday going down by one wicket with the Indians scoring two runs off the last ball to get two points.
While they can take heart from the way they defended the total, the batting will be a worry for Darren Ganga's team.
None of the batsmen looked assured either against pace or spin on a decent Bangalore wicket and the top order will have to come good if they are secure the first points of the tournament.
as For NSW,
They will be desperate to grab full points from this one to increase their semi-final chances, with Warner and Watson opening, and Katich further down the order, the blues will be out for blood.

Best bet: Blues

Australia vs USA : Rugby World Cup

I figured tonights best bet would have to be on the world cup,

In an un-Australian manner i'm going to have to back the US on the line for this one.

Obviously the mighty wallaby's will walk away with an easy win here, however it came as a suprise to me that sportingbet were paying 2.00 for USA given 60.5 points.

Firstly, the USA have a strong line-up but are just tactically unorganised. Basically, they are a bunch of meathead yanks that have no problem running and tackling, running and tackling. I dont think it goes much further than that for the side.  This is evident in their RWC campaign so far, being involved in very low scoring games, beating Russia 13-6 and losing to Ireland 22-10.

Another reason why I like the look of this bet is that it isn't very typical of the Wallabies to destroy a team, were a nation that loves the take the foot off the pedal once were comfortable.

60 is a lot of points.

Best bet: USA +60.5 @ 2.00

Wednesday 21 September 2011

Souza v Ungur @ Bucharest

This another example where the lower ranked player has a great chance to win again. Souza has not performed well in the main tour events this season apart from the Kitzbhul Open where he reached the semi final but apart from that he hasnt progressed past the second round at all.

Ungur is not a big name on the main tour yet but he has been very active in the Challenger tournaments recently and has performed very well. In August and September he has reached the quarter final of the Trani Challanger event, he won the Manerbio challanger event, and reached the semi final of the Brasov Challanger so his confidence must be very high - It is very hard to do well in these challenger events but to do so well in 3 on the trot is a great feat. He also won his first round match 2-0 against Lukos Rosol who is ranked above him and With Ungur's recent successes on the Challenger circuit I think that this could be a great opportunity for him to win.

The odds have been improving all day for Ungur , his odds were 2.30 this morning, hes now at 2.00. This game should be a close one, but a valuable roughie.

Best bet: Ungur

Tuesday 20 September 2011

Tonga Vs Japan Betting.

When I saw the odds for this game I was quite suprised. Betfair is paying 1.63 for tonga to take the win.

Tonga is quite a good rugby nation where as Japan have been constantly humiliated since the start of the tournament. Both teams are in a very tough group and sit on the bottom of the pool however when you match the stats Tonga is by far the better team.

In comparison VS New Zealand:

Tonga:  Lost by 31, scored 10, conceded 41 points, conceded 6 tries.

Japan: Lost by 76, scored 7, conceded 83 points, conceded 13 tries.

I think Tonga's defense is way to good for the Japanese team, and to put it simply, Japan are crap.

Best bet: Tonga

Monday 19 September 2011

Japan Vs Phillipines FIBA, Italy Vs Russia

Today's best bet is another roughie at $2.30.

This game will be close as the Phillipines come in as favourites, however Japan has every capability of winning this one.

Both teams played yesteday, the Phillipines just edged out Jordan by 8 points and Japan smashed the UAE by 40. Coming in to this match Japan are 3-0 so far to the Phillipines 2-1, although the 1 loss comes from their match with the unbeatable China which Japan are yet to face.
The Phillipines are ranked the #53 team in the world to Japan at #33, so history does argue that Japan are the better of the two. Another positive sign is that Sportingbet are dropping Japan from 2.30 to 1.87 given a measly 3 points. Its very rare to see a team drop 40 cents for a 3 point advantage.

This one is anyones, but at 2.30 Japan is great value.

Off the Record:
I found a little system in today's rugby.
You can grab Russia given 22.5 points at 1.92, and then at the same time you can get the game to be decided in over 44.5 points(also at 1.92). With these bets in place the only way you can really lose is if Italy win between 23 and 44 to nil. If Russia even score a single try then both of your bets shorten, one single 7 pointer to Russia then means that you now have Russia given 29.5 points or the game to be over 37.5 points.

With these mathmatics, your basically getting 2.80 for Russia to score a try. However if Russia score and the game still isnt over 44.5 points, the likelihood is that Italy wont be 22.5 in front. Or if Italy DOES beat the line the game should be over 44.5 and you'll get your money back.

Logically, there is about a 7 point zone where you lose both bets. However if the game stays under, youll win the line(Money Back) but if it goes over, Italy will have been 22.5 infront(money back) or its over and and within the line(2.84).

Simply, its like a 1/5 chance of loss, a 2/5 of money back and a 2/5 of win.

Russia scores more than 7 points you can almost guarantee your money back.

For 10 in a row! Best Sports Bet

I figured for the 10 in a row i'd have to pick a good roughie.

Tonight at 11pm theres good value in Thomasz Bellucci at 2.22.

He takes on Igor Andreev in the first round of the Davis Cup. These two players have only met once(clay) and Bellucci won in straights. Both have had a relatively good season so far. yet, Bellucci is ranked the number 38 in the world as Igor Andreev is ranked #81. The reason Andreev is favourite is because he is a tennis veteran compared to Bellucci and has a lot more career wins. But age could work against him in this one, as 23 year old Bellucci may be too much for the 28 year old Andreev.

Andreev is 15/23 YTD. Bellucci is 24/20 YTD.

Andreev has the experience, but I dont see why Bellucci shouldnt win @ 2.22 betfair.

Wednesday 14 September 2011

For 9 in a row and an %1000 return!

Tonight is in the Europa League Qualifiers between Shamrock Rovers and Rubin Kazan.

The Rovers are a shock to even reach the qualifiers as it is, beating an out form Partizan Belgrade to sneak through.

Both of these teams are at the top of their respective domestic leagues, but the Russian Premier league is to the Irish first division like the AFL is to Auskick.

Another point is that Shamrock will struggle with fitness against Kazan, they played on sunday, monday and now on thursday, we should see a strong advantage in the second half.
Rubin Kazan have consistently been involved in all the major european cups and should find this one a walk in the park. If they dont take this win I will never punt on soccer again.

Kazan @ 1.66

Tuesday 13 September 2011

Best bet Wednesday!

For 8 in a row im backing Alla Kudryavtseva in the WTA tashkent series.

She takes on Diatchenko tonight at 5:30, both going in @ 1.87 in a match that is said to be 50/50.

I dont think this is the case, Kudryavtseva has won over 100 matches on hardcourt and is currently ranked #64 in the world where as Diatchenko is #131. Last year Kiryavtseva won at Tashkent, probably due to her convicting serve. Diatchenko on the other hand has a low percentage first serve.

Kudryvtseva should win this @ 2.00    sportsbet

Monday 12 September 2011

Tuesday's bet for 7 in a row!

Tonight starting at 5pm I like the Nippon Ham Fighters (2nd) agaisnt the Lotte Marines(6th) in the Pro Yakyu(Japanese Baseball).

I think the Fighters are over valued here because they have been in terrible form lately, losing 4 of their last 5. They started the season well but have found themselves in a slump, but playing against bottom placed Marines will be their ticket out.

The Fighters are 60-48 this season and the Marines are 48-60. The problem with the Lotte Marines is that they just cant score, from their last 5 games they average less than 2 runs per match.
Making it harder for the Marines to score is Nippon's pitcher, Yu Darvish, who leads the entire league in both ERA and strikeout statistics.

All Nippon need to do is put bat to ball and they will take the win they need.

Best bet: Ham Fighters @ 1.80 sportingbet

US open Mens Final!

Tonight Rafael Nadal(#2) takes on Novak Djokovic(#1) in the US open final. This is a tough one to pick but when reviewing the stats the winner should be obvious.

Whilst Nadal leads Djokovic in the head to head by winning 16 out of the 28 times these two have played, this doesn't reflect recent form. Djokovic has only lost 2 matches all year and has beaten Nadal 4/4 times they have met in 2011.

The last time these two played against each other on hardcourt was at the ATP masters 1000 in Florida early this year and Djokovic won in straight sets. However the last time these two came up against each other was Djokovic's 3-1 win at wimbledon(grass) only a short time ago.

Im sure Nadal has identified what he needs to do to win after losing at Wimbledon, but whether he is good enough is questionable.

Take Djokovic @ 1.68

If you cant bring yourself to try and choose between #1 and #2,

Back the New England Patriots over the Miami Dolphins on the line (-7) 7am tomorrow morning.
The Pats are favourites to win the superbowl whilst Miami are about 20th. The Patriots have a line up that are a cut above Miami's and they should be able to seal this one by more than one touchdown.

Thursday 8 September 2011

Best looks on Friday!

There are a few bets I like the look of today/tonight.

Starting in an hour, MLB:The Arizona Diamondbacks should beat the Padres @ 1.65 - The diamondbacks are in great form at the moment, and the Padres haven't been convincing all season.

Also starting soon,WNBA: Tulsa Shock v Pheonix Mercury total game score under 172 @ 1.91. I had this as a best bet last time these teams played and it came good, should do again.

Cricket tonight, Back England again @ 1.70, they just cant be beaten by a young and dismantled India, its like the best team in the world against the India reserve squad.

If you want a roughie,

Back the Wests to beat St. George in league tonight. St. George established themselves as the team to beat early on but then lost some easy games and slowly became mediokre, Wests on the other hand have been consistent through the season, and are always a good side. Wests are paying 2.15, bookies are backing this one to be settled within 4 points.

Tuesday 6 September 2011

Wednesday's best bet!

Tonights best bet is in the WTA U.S OPEN quarter finals in the match between Sam Stosur(seed #9) and Vera Zvonareva(seed #2).

In the past few tournaments, Stosur hasn't been herself. She lost in round 3 at Rolland Garros(French Open) and didnt even make it past the first round at Wimbledon. Where as Zvonareva reached the Quarters at Rolland Garros and made the Semi's at Wimbledon. Zvonereva is in her top form at the moment, reaching AT LEAST the quarter finals in her past 6 tournaments.

In their careers Zvonareva has a total 12 tennis titles compared to Stosur's 2. Add also Zvonareva is currently ranked #2 in the world where Stosur is #10.

To get to where they are now in the US open, Zvonareva smashed the 22nd seed, Lisicki 6-2 6-3, where as Stosur was troubled by the 25th seed Kirilenko.

Zvonareva is just too strong at the moment and should be able to win this one.

Best Bet:Zvonareva @ 1.77 betfair

Monday 5 September 2011

BEST BET TUESDAY! CRICKET

At the moment no one can fault the English cricket team, they've beaten India's strongest team over and over in the past few months, they white washed them in the test series, smashed them in the T20's and now we should see the same in the one dayer's.

The expectance for England to win this one is coming from both sides, former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar has spoken to the press saying that it is "Unfair to expect India to win" and that this series is a platform for India to test their new batsmen.

Along with a young team, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Ishant Sharma, Harbhajan Singh Rohit Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar are all out due to injury, a massive list of outs.
Many Indian players have mentioned that the current world champion squad is rearraging and they are more concerned about seeing how their youngsters play rather than whether they win or lose. To me these comments sound like those of an unconfident side.

If England dismiss the first couple of batsmen quickly, it will be a walk in the park.

Best Bet : England @ 1.65 centrebet

Sunday 4 September 2011

Betting Monday!

I've selected two bets here that have a good return.
By this I mean, between Mardy Fish and Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, and Miami (FL) and Maryland, these games are a flip of a coin. In both cases this game could go anywhere, either sides have an equal ability to win by a massive margin, or the teams have the ability to bring it down to the wire.

In the ATP U.S open, either Mardy fish or Jo-wilfred Tsonga could win 3-0 or it could come to 3-2, whatever happens there is really no favourite. With that being said, its worth putting your money behind the player with the highest odds.

So far in the US open neither player has lost a single set in 3 games, both are in outstanding form, Fish has just beaten Kevin Andersen 3-0, who is ranked #34 in the world.

Currently Tsonga is ranked #11 in the world and Fish sits above him at #8.

For this one ill let you pick whoever you like, but personally ill take the one that pays more from bookmakers in this 50/50 match.

Best bet: FISH

TAB:        Tsonga@ 1.87              Fish @1.87
CentreBet:          Tsonga @ 1.81            Fish @ 2.00
SportingBet:          Tsonga @ 1.80         Fish @ 1.98

Another game with a bigger margin in the odds is in the NCAA college football.
I dont think this one will turn out to be so much a 50/50 like the tennis, but it is 50/50 in the fact its UNKNOWN who will dominate the play.
One of the reasons I wanted to tip this is because it will be live on ESPN tomorrow morning, so you can get a feel for how these teams will play this season and then judge whether the value is good next time they play.

Last season both Maryland and Miami finished 2nd place in seperate conferences with a 5-3 record (Maryland in the Atlantic, Miami in the Coastal).

Maryland definitely were a stronger team last year overall, they had better passing completion and yardage statistics yet their overall rushing success sits below that of Miami.

That was last season, this game is the first game of the 2011 season and no one really knows how the teams will perform against each other, Maryland looked the better team last year, but a lot can change in that space of time.

I think the reason Maryland are the favourites here is purely based on the fact they are the homeside, a solid advantage in round 1.

All the signs point to Maryland(1.55) but I think Miami are an equal chance, which makes them good value @ 2.47.(Centrebet)

Friday 2 September 2011

Friday night soccer betting!

There are Euro 2012 qualifiers tonight and some look like good bets.

The bet I like the most is England(1.55) v Bulgaria(5.50) in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria haven't proven much at all so far in the competition. They are last in their group with 1w 2d 2L compared to Englands 3w 2d 0L. Add also englands average goals per game is 2.2 to Bulgarias 0.4.

Bulgaria are good defensively but just cant score. Last time these two played in england, England won 4-0, a comfortable result for the home side.

England will come in looking to secure an early qualification. Games against teams like Bulgaria are a must win after allowing Switzerland slip past with a draw in the last round. This one is crucial for England otherwise their campaign will be under pressure.

A critical game here for England as a failure to win will likely give Montenegro a chance to snatch the pole. Expect no further slip up from Capello's side and fancy them to get back to winning ways.

Most of all the named side says it all, even though they're away, could England really lose?

BEST BET:  England @ 1.55

However if your looking for something a little rougher i'd recommend backing:

$1.80:   Sweden to beat Hungary - Sweden beat them 2-0 in Sweden, Hungary are 3w 4L where Sweden are 5W 1L. Sweden are also averaging 3.33 goals per game. Shouldnt be too difficult providing they keep their heads whilst away.

Or ROUGHER:
$3.30: Northern Ireland over Serbia - Theyve played twice, Serbia won 1-0 and then 2-1 in Serbia, they have very similar match statistics but Serbia are struggling to defend where as Northern Ireland have 4/6 clean sheets. N. Ireland could be too good in Ireland.

Thursday 1 September 2011

Best bet Thursday!

U.S.Open, 2nd round: Roger Federer(1.01) V Dudi Sela(1.5)

Bet: Total game score under 29 games ( Federer winning by better than 6-4 6-3 6-3)

Federer has only played against Sela once. It was in 2005,  the score was 3-0 (61,64,60).

Although Federer is not the player he used to be, Sela still is not a player who can compete with him.

Federer is currently the number 3 in the world Sela is 93.

The only thing in this bet that worries me is that Federer starts slowly, or if not that, relaxes after the first 2 sets and gives away cheap games.

Best bet: Total match games under 29 @ $1.87

Also have a look at MLB tomorrow. The Yankees are paying 2.80 against the red sox (1.50) this is a 3 game series, Yankees won 1, Reds took the second today, these are always close and it wouldnt be a suprise if the Yankees got up. 2.80 is good money for the game.

Tuesday 30 August 2011

2 best sports bet WEDNESDAY!

Tonights best betting is tough, as usual on wednesdays but I do think there is a good bet in overnight Major League Baseball between the LA Angels(1.90) and Seattle Mariners(1.97). And also in the ATP US OPEN in the match between Alex Bogomolov and Steve Johnson.

Firstly in MLB,

The Mariners will be the home side, but that didn't mean a thing today when the Angels won 13-6. I think we will see a similar performance come from the Angels tomorrow, lower scoring, but same result.

The Angels have a total 73-62 record this season and 35(48%)  of their wins are on the road, so their perfomances are usually similar no matter where they play. This is an advantage against the Mariners who have an overall 57-77 game record with a 33-36 record at their home park.
Of the 4 teams in the American League Western Conference, LA sit 2nd and Seattle sit in Last.
This one will be close, but with the Angels at $1.90 its worth having a bet on a much better side.

Best Bet: LA ANGELS @ 1.90 sportingbet, 1.85 centrebet

As for the tennis,

Alex Bogomolov shouldnt see any difficulty breezing past his fellow American.
Alex Bogomolov  is currently ranked #44 in the world, while Steve Johnson is currently #525.

Bogomolov is a strong hardcourter with a good serve. He is 17-9 on hardcourt and reached the last16 in Cincinnati, where he manged to beat Verdasco with 2:0 the round before. He also had some solid matches in Montreal, making it to the last 32 but then losing to Monfils.
The reason Johnson is playing is that he was entered as a wildcard. He is 2-6 on hardcourt and lost for example cleary against Roger-Vasselin with 0:2 ( 1:6 2:6) earlier on.

BEST BET: Bogomolov to win in straight sets(3-0) @ 1.72 on centrebet.

Reccomend a multi at low stakes.

Monday 29 August 2011

BEST BET TUESDAY!

The best bet I can reccomend today is in the WNBA.

I bet on women's basketball quite a lot, not so much on teams but overall match scores.
Rarely game scores are very high and average around 145-150 points total. Out of the 6 games being played tomorrow, one game, Pheonix Mercury against the Tulsa Shock has the match score line at under or over 174.5.

This season of the WNBA is almost over so the scoring averages are accurate:

Tulsa Shock average points per game: 68.3

Pheonix Mercury average points per game: 80.9

The only reasons I can find as a downside to this bet is Pheonix's average is one of the highest in the WNBA and Tulsa have only 3 wins this season, if Pheonix come out firing they could score a lot more than their average. But with that being said if Tulsa dont score all that much, Pheonix need to score a lot to reach the target.

Some days the games some how become high scoring affairs, but most dont.
With the averages equalling 149.2 per game between these two, and the score line needing to reach 175, these teams need to score 87.5 points each, possibly achievable by the Mercury, but not from Tulsa.

Best bet Tuesday: PM vs TS under 174.5 @ 1.95 on sportingbet
                                                       175.5 @ 1.87 on TAB
                                                        174.5@ 1.91 on Sportsbet

Thursday 25 August 2011

Best bets Friday!

Tonight has a lot of close games, however there are also over-valued games in the mix.

The best value bet I can find tonight is in the NRL. The Melbourne Storm($2.42) travel to take on Manly($1.57) in a top of the table clash. Starting 5 pm WST live on fox.

The reason this game has value is that these two teams always have close matches, sportingbet have predicted Manly by 4 points, a single unconverted try.

Melbourne are on top of the NRL ladder with 19-3 compared to Manly's 2nd placed 17-5. Manly also just narrowly escaped a shock loss to parramatta (the bottom placed team with only 5 wins this season) in round 23.

The reason the bookmakers have Manly at such a short price is that they are playing to be unbeaten at home for the entire season, but I personally think that justs adds pressure to the side.

Its anyones game, but I think Melbourne will need to score the first try to win it.

Sportingbet.com have the best odds at 2.42, TAB has Melbourne at 2.25.

Best bet: Melbourne Storm

Another bet worth taking a look at is Collingwood and Fremantle.Starts 6.40 WST.

Any Fremantle supporter remembers that horrible day a few seasons back where Freo failed to kick a single goal, I think this might be one of those days. With outs such as Pavlich, Grover, Mundy, Ballantyne and Mcphee, the team is in huge trouble. Considering with an even better Fremantle team last week they went down to the Roos by 98 points, imagine what Collingwood(with the in's they have) will do to this weeks team..
Some may argue that being at Paterson's will help Fremantle, but realistically, a bigger ground will only benefit the fitter, faster and stronger team on any day.

Best Bet: Collingwood -73.5 ($2.00)

Best bet Thursday!

The best bet for today is the Oakland Athletics($2.78) against the New York Yankees($1.48) in Major League Baseball. Starting 1 am WST.

I've gone even rougher again for today's best bet, it may look like a long shot but there is definately value in the Athletics to take the win.

Firstly, these two teams played yesterday in New York and Oakland came out with a 6-4 win. Also, Oaklands named pitcher is Rich Harden(Rank 16) who's game record is 4 wins 2 losses, against the Yankee's Phil Hughes(Rank 20) with a 4-4 record. A better form pitcher can make all the difference no matter where the game is played.

Sportingbet.com.au have odds on that the Yankees will win by 1 run, which is only a hit difference, which is strange to see when they've valued the underdog at $2.78. I think the Yankees are constantly under-valued because of the franchise's popularity worldwide, not because the actual skill of the team. Yes they should win this game, but at $2.78 the Athletics are great value.

Lastly this game is one of the odd games that are played at mid-day rather than in the evening, teams dont usually play at this time, which may not mean all that much but in my opinion should definitely shorten the margins of the two teams.

Rough choice but great value.
This one will come down to who the better morning persons are.

Thursday best bet: Oakland Athletics

Another game I dont mind the look of is in the Europa League. The BSC Young Boys have been one of Switzerland's best football teams for years and they face Braga(portugese). Young boys are @2.15 for the win. Have a look. Starts 1.30am WST

Wednesday's best bet!

Not much on offer mid-week, but I have managed to find some value in Japanese Baseball.

Tonight at 5pm WST  the Rakuten Gold Eagles($2.35) visit the Nippon Ham Fighters($1.60).

The Ham Fighters are solid favourites here but I dont think the win will be as easy as the bookmakers suggest. The Eagles have won their last 3 matches, beating the top team 2:1 and 7:2 the following day, and then defeating the Hams at home yesterday 6:2.

The only difference from the Eagles win over the Fighters yesterday is that they will play away, yes thats a huge factor in baseball, but I think its made the bookmakers over-value the Gold Eagles here. Will be a close one.

Best bet:  Rakuten Gold Eagles @ 2.35      Confidence: 6/10

Tuesday Best Bet! Tennis

I believe the best bet for today is the ATP Winston Salem match between Tobias Kamke and Juan Monaco.(Starting at 3am EST)

The current odds on Sportingbet Australia is Kamke @ 2.05 and Monaco @ 1.75, a close match according to bookmakers.

However I think world number 36, Monaco will be too strong for Kamke who is ranked 92,  he has had a stronger season and is far more experienced.

Even though these players are a similar age Monaco has 3 titles to Kamkes 0,Monaco has played 370 proffessional matches to Kamke's 45.

$1.75 is great value for Monaco to win.

Pick of the week!

This weeks "Pick of the week" is Sydney vs ST Kilda in the Australian Football League on Sunday.

Confidence: 9/10

Sydney are great value on NSW TAB at $2.40 agaisnt a simillarly postioned team on the AFL ladder. Yes the saints are in good form at the moment but too much is at stake for Sydney to lose at home.

With the new Greater Western Sydney team joining the competition next season, the AFL desperately need Sydney to make the finals. Australian football is slowly falling behind in support in New South Wales as rugby and soccer take the gauntlet.

If interest is lost in the state, GWS will struggle to gather support and be profitable. So I believe there is even a possibilty of foul play behind the scenes of this game. Maybe bribes to umpires or players from the AFL itself to ensure Sydney take this important win and cement a spot in the Finals.
