Game 2 Eastern Conference Finals Cleveland Cavaliers At Atlanta Hawks.

Game 1 showed moments of both teams at their best. The Hawks came out firing and shot over 70% in the first quarter. Things were looking ominous for Lebron and the Cavs, until they started playing some basketball of their own to bring it back level. Then, J.R Smith took the game into his own hands and orchestrated the 13-0 run to start the 4th quarter that put the nail in the coffin for the Hawks. It would be crazy to think the Cavs could come along and take both away wins from the number 1 seed to start the series, but that might just happen. If Demarre Carroll doesn't play with his knee sprain the Hawks are in big trouble. The Cavs will be able to run a "pick and roll" all day long and that leaves the Hawks with the conundrum of either giving Lebron an easy shot or pulling their bigs away from the hoop and leaving the inside exposed. Millsap is a mismatch for Lebron in terms of speed and acceleration.

With Demarre Carroll the Hawks averaged 105.6 points per 100 possessions, without they averaged 92.6. Thats worse than the Philadelphia 76ers, who were the worst shooting team in the NBA this season..

 Keep an eye out for Carrolls status, if he doesn't play the Hawks will go 0-2..

The Stanley Cup continues tonight with Tampa Bay trying to level the series. The last time the Rangers hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning, most expected a high scoring affair given the offensive potency of both teams. That didn't turn out to be the case as the game finished 2-1 off the back of great defensive efforts and some shockers of missed chances.

So the bookies have dropped the Under/Over total by .5 and offered up a nice $2.40(+140) for the over. Last time out over 5.5 paid $1.87(-113) was the favoured of the two. Now you can grab that same original 5.5 line but the over is paying $3.35(+235). Same teams, same place, but the line of 5.5 has gone from 1.87 to 3.35 (-113 to +235). Crazy value in that stat alone. Getting to the business end of the Conference Semis in the NBA. Tonight Houston tries to keep their season alive in a must win game 6 against the Clippers. The Clippers bench got beat up a bit last time out and the starters played as though they were happy to let Houston cruise so they can take them out back at home. That spells danger for the Rockets, but getting 8.5 points against a team that finished as the second seed in the West is crazy. The Rockets were heavily favored to win this series, yet the Clippers turned that on its head quickly. Blake Griffin has been nothing short of dominant and should feature heavily again. The Clippers are likely to get the home win and progress in the West, but the Rockets are the better paper team and have their backs against the wall. We're going to see the Hawks tighten the screws just a little more in this game and jump into a 2-0 series lead against a Nets team I still don't really believe deserve a play-off spot. The line in this one is probably about right but we can grab a steal on the under/over.

Lets be honest, it should be very rare that the Milwaukee Brewers start as a favorite.. With only two wins this season you'd be crazy to take them at short odds. They face the Cincinnati Reds today. The Reds team are terribly underrated in my opinion. Their record doesn't reflect how good they've been considering a couple of tough losses by only one or two runs. Getting 2.07 is an absolute gift in this one. Obviously, baseball is a funny game, but when you're getting over 2:1 in a 2 horse race and your horse is clearly the better runner. How couldn't you? It's like playing blackjack when you've already got an Ace as your first card..

Monday's Best - NRL 20/4/15

South Sydney continue this week without Adam Reynolds. His absence cost the Rabbits last week as they blew a half time lead to lose by 18 points. The longer break with Monday fixture allows the Souths to rethink their game-plan and adapt from that learning curve. Cronulla have been impressive of late, but I think today we will see that come to an end and the Souths get back on track. G.I will be keen to run the pill and the absent Fifita bros will leave some headaches for the Sharks. I'm liking the huge price of 3.10 for the Rabbits to get up in a competitive one..

AFL Best Bet Sunday 18/04/15

The bookies are offering a whopping 54 point head start for the Bulldogs against Hawthorn today.


Hawthorn enter this one off the back of a substandard performance that saw them lose to the Bombers last week. The Hawks failed to find the midfield to forward transition in round 2 but will hope to correct that with the return of Sam Mitchell and Gibbo from injury.

In contrast, the Bulldogs have got off to a flyer at 2-0. Including the defeat of a Richmond side that were impressive yesterday. The successful start to the season can mostly be credited to the new fast paced, attacking style of football played by the Bulldogs under coach Luke Beveridge.

Yes, this one is in Launceston and that always spells trouble, but I'm keen on the Dogs keeping this one close..

Manchester United look a great bet tonight. Although they play away at the Bridge, they've won 4 on the trot and look very hungry to take on a slumping Chelsea. Chelsea have been out of form since their Champions League campaign and not playing the same football we have been used to. Without Diego Costa to score goals, options will be tough for Chelsea. In contrast, United scored 4 against City last week. 1.95 is a nice price for the form Devils win or draw! If the Red Devils score first, you can be pretty comfortable that Chelsea won't manage two unanswered...
