The Bulldogs started strong, then fell off a bit but remain one win outside the 8. The Saints are still struggling to become a contender. The Dogs had the Saints by 60 points last time out before they put the cue in the rack and blew that astronomical lead. Don't think that can happen again...

North Melbourne face Collingwood at the MCG at 3.20 local today in wet conditions. The bookies have the game as a toss up and picking a winner is a hard task. Collingwood find themselves in the top 8, but aren't really a top 8 team. North Melbourne find themselves outside the top 8, but probably should be a top 8 team. I think Collingwood get up here as the Roos are notorious for poor performances when it comes to wet conditions. But, the better play is getting under the total at 172. I'ts likely to rain all game long and getting the two teams to combine for more than 25 goals seems a feat in the mud...

Origin is back! The Queensland Maroons will be keen to set the record straight after New South Wales got the better of them in 2014.
It's no secret that both teams come into this one with a passion that mostly derives from the pure loathing of their opponents. Queensland have dominated the history of this clash and the Blues victory last year was their first in 9 origin series. There's no doubt that the Blues have the best of the youngsters tonight, but the greats of the game are stacked up in the Maroons line up. The best chance for NSW to get up is in a low scoring forward battle to negate the damage that the Maroons playmakers are capable of. But honestly, there's just too much talent and with Billy Slater and Johnathon Thurston orchestrating the Blues will be left wanting....

Can't believe the Angels are starting as the underdog in this one. What stat merits the favoritism of the Blue Jays? Their pitching is a HUGE liability, Dickey struggles as a starter consistently and the supporting cast give up runs like no ones business. The story of the Blue Jays is that even if they do manage to gain the lead in a game, you can be assured they'll blow it. With the Angels chasing the top of the AL and on a run winning 7 of their last 10. I'm happy to take the Los Angeles Angels as the underdog and watch the Blue Jays self implode..

Monday Night Footy is here as Manly Sea Eagles face the Penrith Panthers.
Both teams have had their injury woes this season and their ladder positions reflect that. However, Manly welcome back and have been welcoming back key players to their squad in recent weeks and their charge for finals footy can begin. However, Penrith continues to be plagued by injury and resolve still seems a while away. The backs will be the difference in this one as Manly make scoring a challenging task for the visitors. Going to take some additional points off the Sea Eagles if you have access to a bookmaker offering Pick Your Own Line. Otherwise Manly -1.5 @ 1.93 is a great play.

The last time Port Adelaide faced the Lions, the Power got the job done by 113 points. Since then the story hasn't been any better for Brisbane, only winning one game this season against Carlton. Port will definitely be looking for a top 4 spot and getting a solid percentage boosting win against a probable wooden spoon squad is a must. The South Sydney Rabbitohs are struggling without Adam Reynolds. They've won 1 of their last 4 without managing any real defensive potency.
Canberra seem to be traveling well at the moment and you can't deny the message they're sending the league.
A 10.5 head start is an absolute gift and whether the Rabbits win or not I can't seem them generating enough offense to blow out the Raiders.

Lets be honest, it should be very rare that the Milwaukee Brewers start as a favorite..
With only two wins this season you'd be crazy to take them at short
odds. They face the Cincinnati Reds today. The Reds team are terribly underrated in my opinion. Their record doesn't reflect how good they've been
considering a couple of tough losses by only one or two runs. Getting
2.07 is an absolute gift in this one. Obviously, baseball is a funny
game, but when you're getting over 2:1 in a 2 horse race and your horse
is clearly the better runner. How couldn't you? It's like playing
blackjack when you've already got an Ace as your first card..

Monday's Best - NRL 20/4/15
South Sydney continue this week without Adam Reynolds. His absence cost the Rabbits last week as they blew a half time lead to lose by 18 points. The longer break with Monday fixture allows the Souths to rethink their game-plan and adapt from that learning curve. Cronulla have been impressive of late, but I think today we will see that come to an end and the Souths get back on track. G.I will be keen to run the pill and the absent Fifita bros will leave some headaches for the Sharks. I'm liking the huge price of 3.10 for the Rabbits to get up in a competitive one..
